Abstract

Three phase induction motor is a motor that generally use in the industry. But, the motor sometime has an interferences such as the abnormal voltage, wether the voltage drops, the voltage rises, unbalance voltage, overcurrent, overheating and overspeed. Those problems can cause another serious problems for three phase induction motor. Base on the problems mention above, it’s crucially needed to make the protection system for under voltage, over voltage, unbalance voltage, over current, over heat and over speed using the Arduino Mega 2560 as a microcontroller which is equipped with monitoring tool. Setting point for nominal voltage is 220 volt. For the over voltage setting point we use 232 volt and 198 volt for under voltage setting point. Setting trip point for unbalance voltage is about 1%, overcurrent is 2,95 ampere , over speed is 1470 rpm and 30 o C for the overheat setting point. The result show that the protection and monitoring system worked based on tha standard that we use. From the manufacture of theree phase induction motor protection equipment, it is expected that the potential damage of three phase induction motor couse by the problem can be reduced.
