Abstract
This study is to analyze the romanticism in a novel by Renzo Barbieri, The Fashion Show. The method used in this research is descriptive method. It describes the types the romanticism, verbal and non verbal, and the example which taken from the novel by Renzo Barbiery “The Fashion Show”. The data are collected through the library research and browsing. The data collected are analyzed and interpreted by classifying the kinds of romanticism based on the verbal and non verbal action and then find out the function of romanticism in this novel. From this study, it was found that the romanticism can be classified into verbal which can be divided into the indoor action romanticism and outdoor action romanticism and non verbal which are romanticism based on atmosphere, and the third is mix romanticism which is mean the romanticism which was influenced by the atmosphere and followed romanticism by action. It also found that the function of romanticism in this novel is as a complement.
