Abstract

This case study entitled “Teacher’s Conformity to Lesson Plans in Teaching English: A Case Study at Mts. Al-Aziziyah Kapek Gunung Sari Academic Year 2011/2012 ” is aimed to find out how the teacher applies the lesson plans during teaching-learning process at Mts. Al- Aziziyah Kapek Gunung Sari Academic Year 2011/2012, whether the teacher conformed to the application of lesson plans, and what kinds of common problems that teacher faces in its application. There were three English teachers in that school but the writer only took one teacher to be observed. She was a teacher who taught students at first years. The observation was done three times. The first observation was at class A and E. The second observation was at class D and F. The last observation was at class B and C. The data of this study were got by observation, interview, and documentation. The data collecting were analyzed by using qualitative method. The writer analyzed all the data and finding the teacher’s conformity based on the eleven components the lesson plan but the writer only used nine components. The result of this study showed that the teacher conformed to the application of her lesson plans during teaching and learning process but the teacher almost did not conformed in learning activities component. It was because of the time, the students’ readiness, and the facility in that school.
