Abstract
Community forest is a part of community life in Karang Bayan village, Lingsar subdistrict, West Lombok. It means that the community forest is as old as the history of the people living in the area. Thus, it is interesting to know more about the characteristic of the forest. The objective of this research is to identify the composition of species, spatial distribution pattern, stratification and diversity of tree species compossing community forest with agroforestry pattern in Karang Bayan village. Data are collected using square transect method with 20 m of width and 100 m of length. The distance among transect is 200 m. Density, frequency, domination, and important value index are used to analyze data. Research findings show that community forest managed by agroforestry pattern has 5 layers, which the ground layer is dominated by Colacasia sp. and Fern sp. Durio zibethinus, Arenga pinnata and Coconus nucifera dominated the second layer until the top layer.
