Abstract

The gasification process is a thermochemical process to convert carbonaceous materials into a gas capable of combustion. Gasification consists of four separate stages which consists of drying, pyrolysis, oxidation / combustion and reduction. The fourth stage occurs naturally in combustion processes. This study aims to determine the potential use of the gases of the biomass gasification mixture of horse manure and corn stalks with a composition of 1: 1 in the machine 4 step 1 cylinder (Suzuki smash 110 cc) and to determine how much influence the flow rate of feed gas oxygen on the performance of the machine the. The method used in this study is the experimental method, namely torque, effective power and specific fuel consumption effective (SFCE) as the dependent variable and the variation of the flow rate of feed gas oxygen 10 lpm, 15 lpm, 20 lpm, 30 lpm and variations of the engine rev 1500 rpm, 2500 rpm, 3500 rpm and 4500 rpm as independent variables. Application of the gases of the biomass gasification mixture of horse manure and corn stalks on the type of engine Suzuki smash 110 cc obtained from the flow rate of feed gas oxygen 20 lpm able to produce a better performance on a machine with a rotation of 4500 rpm generating a torque of 9,090 Nm, the effective power by 4281 , 484 Watt, SFC amounted to 1039.8 lpm and SFCe amounted to 0,242 Liter / Watt.jam.
