Abstract

VANET is a derivative wireless technology from MANET that is being developed as part of the ITS (Intelligent Transportation System) to help improve driving efficiency and improve driving safety. In the VANET network, nodes are likened to vehicles that will always move according to road conditions that cause changes in network topology to be dynamic. So it takes the right routing protocol for the various conditions so that VANET network can be used optimally. In this final essay performance analysis was done on two protocol-based topology that is Ad-hoc On-demand Distance Vector (AODV) and Destination Sequenced Distance Vector (DSDV) on VANET network with simulated scenarios that have been made. In making the simulation this is supported by the help of JOSM, SUMO, and NS-2 applications. The QOS parameters that measured in this simulation are average throughput, packet delivery ratio, average end- to-end delay and routing overhead. From this final essay, the results of the two protocols have their respective advantages. Where the AODV routing protocol is superior to packet delivery ratio and average throughput parameters. While the DSDV routing protocol is superior in the average end-to-end delay and routing overhead parameters.
