Abstract

This study aims to examine: the effect of cooperative learning model type team assisted individualization on understanding students' physics concepts, the effect of achievement motivation on understanding students' physics concepts, and the interaction between cooperative learning models of team assisted individualization with achievement motivation on understanding students' physics concepts . This type of research is quasi experimental with a 2 × 2 factorial design. The study population was all students of class X Science at SMAN 6 Mataram in the academic year 2017/2018. The sample was taken using cluster random sampling technique. X 3 class was chosen as experiment class and X 5 as control class. Data was taken using multiple choice tests with an alternative of five answers and description tests and questionnaires. Hypothesis testing using analysis of variance (ANAVA) two roads with a significance level of 5% assisted by SPSS 16.Based on the results of this analysis it can be concluded that: there is the influence of cooperative learning model type team assisted individualization on understanding students 'physics concepts significantly with p-vaule 0.00 smaller than 0.05, there is an effect of achievement motivation on understanding students' physics concepts significant with p-vaule 0.00 smaller than 0.05, and there is no effect of interaction between cooperative learning models of team assisted individualization and achievement motivation on understanding students' physics concepts insignificantly with p-vaule 0.255 greater than 0, 05.
