Abstract

English Language cannot be separated from Tourism Industry. The areaof this field of job require various English Language Skills. Those skills, which each area of Tourism Industry desire should be taught at schools, especially at Tourism department of Vocational High Schools.In Teaching Learning Process, the use of material which appropriate for the students majoring in Tourism is highly required. In the Tourism Departmentof Vocational High School 2 Mataram, in which this research was conducted, the materials used were textbooks from 2013 curriculum which published by Indonesian Government. In the field of Tourism Industry the data of Job specification requirement was collected by analyzing the worksheet and the brochure. Also interview for subject specialist was conducted to support the data. In line with government of Education regulation, the data of English material used at Tourism Departmentof Vocational High School 2 Mataram were compared with KKNI Document Level2. At the end, the data were analyzed by using content analysis. The Textbooks used in Tourism Departmentof Vocational High School 2 Mataram werestrongly relevant with the English Language Skills Requirement of each area of Tourism Industry. Moreover, it was related with the KKNI Level 2 Language Skills Requirement. Furthermore, teacher needs to develop the materials based on the real situation in the workplace. This indicates the teacher should modify materials in relation with student’s backgrounds and requirements from local and global view.
