Abstract

This study is aimed to investigate the curricular and English actual needs of vocational school, at hotel accomodation program at SMK Negeri 1 Praya. Descriptive qualitative was used as the research design. Employing document studies, semi-structured interview, and questionnaire as the techniques of collecting data. Purposive sampling was chosen to select the participant involved in this study. The subject of the study were four appenticeship hotel accomodation students, two English teachers, and two subject specialists who participated in semi-structured interview, thirty students of hotel accomodation program and six subject specialists participated in filling questionnaire. All data were identified, simplified, and classified to relate them to the research question’s answer. The findings showed there were eight topics as the curricular needs of English for hotel accomodation program based on teachers’ percpectives and nine related topics as students’ actual needs based on students’ direct experience and subject specialist’s point of view. Both were analyzed to gain the conclusion of this study. Therefore, the result of analysing curricular and actual needs were mostly categorised to the “linked” in three themes (knowledge, skills, attitudes) because there were thirteen topics are linked each other, two topics are match, and one topic is mismatch.
