Abstract

The research that has been conducted on 04 September - 16 October 2014 Teaching Farm for the fermentation process that continued into the Nutrition and Food Science Laboratory at Faculty of Animal Science Mataram University, aimed at analyzing the process of in-vitro dry matter and organic matter digestibility of cocoa pod husk (CPH). The study was designed based on completely randomized design with a unidirectional pattern 3 treatments and 3 replications. T1 (Control: CPH + rice bran + urea without fermenter), T2 (CPH + rice bran + urea + rumen fluid), and P3 (CPH + rice bran + urea + bioplus). The results show the value of in-vitro dry matter digestibility of P1, P2 and P3 as 49.33%, 54.55% and 59.25% respectively, while the value of in-vitro organic matter digestibility as 59.93%, 64.10% and 69.12% respectively. The results showed that the value of in-vitro dry matter digestibility of silage CFS fermented with additional fermenters rumen fluid had non significant (P> 0.05) compared to controls and bioplus, where as treatment with bioplus significant (P <0.05) compared to controls. The influence of the fermenter is non-significant (P> 0.05) to the value of the organic matter digestibility. It can be concluded that the process of fermentation with rumen fluid and bioplus able to improve skin quality cocoa pods.
