Abstract

Clay Tanak Awu is one type of soil that are sensitive to water. Strong support to be low when the water content in soil increases. This is not beneficial for civil buildings on it. Many businesses that can be done soil improvement, one that is by way of stabilization by adding a stabilizing agent such as lime and fly ash. This research will look for the effect of addition of lime and fly ash to the level of carrying capacity and sensitivity of the clay soil. Stabilizing agent used consisted of 8% lime addition of fly ash with variation of 4%, 6% and 8%. Further testing the physical properties and mechanical ground to determine changes in soil properties due to the addition of a stabilizing agent. The results showed that by adding a stabilizing agent that is lime by 8% with the addition of fly ash 4%, 6% and 8% can provide significant changes to the physical and mechanical properties of expansive clay soil and can affect the value of sensitivity. Changes in optimum physical properties that occur on the addition of 8% lime and fly ash addition of 4%. Improved soil unconfined compressive strength of the maximum occurs on the addition of 8% lime and fly ash at 6% is 4.83 kg/cm2 of native soil bearing capacity is only 3.86 kg/cm2. Optimum changes occur during the addition of 8% lime with addition of fly ash variation of 4% to 6% and has a low sensitivity to the sensitivity value is.
