Abstract

This thesis is about the uses of English animation movie to improve students’ vocabulary at first grade students of SMKN 1 Kopang in academic year 2018/2019. This research is to find out the significant effect of using English animation movie as one of media in learning and teaching vocabulary. The population of this research was 216 students at first grade students of SMKN 1 Kopang in academic year 2018/2019. There were 2 classes taken as the sample that I used is cluster random sampling. There were 60 students from two classes, each class consisted of 30 students as the sample. This is an experimental research in SMKN 1 Kopang in academic year 2018/2019. This research use pre-test and post-test to collect the data. Two classes were separated into experimental group and control group. The data is analyzed using statistical analysis with t-test formula. The t-test result is 3.16 and the t-table of level 0.05 is 2.00. Therefore, based on the hyphotesis which was mentioned: if t-test ≥ t-table at the significant level .05, “The Uses of English animation movie is effective to improve students’ vocabulary mastery” is failed to be rejected, in the other word the Ha (Alternative hyphotesis) is accepted. Based on this finding, it is suggested that English animation movie can be used by teacher to improve students’ vocabulary mastery.
