Abstract

Abstract Silver pompano pomfret has great potential to be developed, both domestically and abroad. Star pomfret contains omega 3 which is very high, these fish are in demand both locally and internationally such as Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China and Canada. Egg development is a critical phase. Temperature is one of the environmental factors that influence the metabolic processes of living things. The effect of different temperatures on the level of hatching is important to know in hatcheries to increase production, both the quantity and quality of the larvae produced. The purpose of this research is to find out the effect of different temperatures on the hatchery of starfruit eggs (Trachinotus blochii). This study uses an experimental method with a completely randomized design method (CRD) with four treatments and three replications, namely: Treatment A Temperature 26°C, Treatment B Temperature 28°C, Treatment C Temperature 30°C and Treatment D Temperature 32°C. The research parameters observed were embryo development, egg hatchability, egg hatching time, larval abnormalities, egg yolk size, and larval length. The results obtained in this study were the fastest hatching time occurred in treatment D 32ºC with a time of 16 hours 55 minutes and the longest time in treatment A (26ºC) with a time of 18 hours 05 minutes. The fastest hatchability in treatment D 32ºC was 76.38% and the smallest at treatment A (26ºC) was 54.55%. The lowest abnormalities were found in treatment D 32ºC at 11.91% and the highest at treatment A (26ºC) at 25.29%. The size of the yolk from the largest treatment D 32ºC with a value of 0.34µm and the smallest at treatment A (26ºC) with a value of 0.17µm. The highest larval length in treatment D 32ºC was 2.3 mm and the smallest was treatment A (26ºC) of 1.81 mm.
