Abstract
This study aims to determine the function of the drug and food regulatory agency in conducting drug surveillance and circulation in the city of Mataram, and to determine the inhibiting factors in conducting drug supervision and circulation. So that later it can provide theoretical benefits. practical for readers, the public, the government and BPOM, this research is empirical research with a legal, conceptual, and sociological approach. The results of the research and discussion showed that the implementation of BPOM's function in conducting drug supervision and circulation in the city of Mataram was not optimal, because there were still many drugs found that did not yet have marketing permits. This shows that there are many obstacles in conducting supervision, and the biggest obstacle faced by Balai POM is the lack of human resources, both the human resources of the workers and the human resources of business people.
