Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify the impacts of dyslexia over Ishaan in TaareZameen Par movie. Dyslexia is related to language disability which can affect cognitive, effective and psychomotor as well. The theories that applied to this research problem are BadanPenelitiandanPengembanganDepartemenPendidikanNasional (2007) in understanding the impacts of dyslexia in cognitive side psychomotor, and also this research used Maslow’s theory in understanding the impacts of Dyslexia from affective side. This study uses qualitative method in doing analysis the data. Descriptive qualitative is used by the researcher in order to get more details explanation from each data. To gain the data, the researcher uses the Documentation as the instrument of this study. The data are in the form of dialogues and pictures from the movie, which are not taken from the script only, but also from the dyslexic’s mind, feeling, mimic, gesture. And the result from this study is the researcher found that there are five impacts of dyslexia in this movie, they are: learning difficulty, agonizing, discrimination, skipping class and the dyslexic became the object of complain. This study is expected can be useful as the reference for the next researcher, and also can be useful for the reader.
