Abstract
Designing lesson plan is one of crucial steps to start teaching learning process. By using lesson plan, teaching learning process might run systematic, effectively, and efficient. However, many teachers who face difficulties in designing lesson plan still exist nowadays. One of the school which faced this problem is SMPN 1 Lingsar. The objective of this study is to (1) know the quality of English teachers’ lesson plan in SMPN 1 Lingsar based on curriculum 2013, (2) know the difficulties faced by English teachers in designing lesson plan based on curriculum 2013 in SMPN 1 Lingsar. This research is qualitative research which involved three English teachers of SMPN 1 Lingsar as the subject of the research, and English teachers’ lesson plan in the first semester in SMPN 1 Lingsar as the object of the research. The data were collected through document analysis, questionnaire and interview, then analyzed by using mix method; qualitative and quantitative. From the analysis, it was found that (1) Percentage of quality for English teachers’ lesson plan in SMPN 1 Lingsar is 63.02% (2) Difficulties faced by English teachers’ lesson plan in SMPN 1 Lingsar include non-component of lesson plan basis and component of lesson plan basis.
