Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the factors influencing students‟ motivation in taking English Program at FKIP, Mataram University in academic year 2018/2019. Questionnaire was given to the sample of population which comprises of 60 students from third semesters. The data of this study was collected through questionnaire. The questionnaire consist of 30 items. Through data display, analysis are made to identify the level of dominance of each factors. The finding indicate the dominant factors influencing students‟ motivation in taking English program at FKIP is intrinsic motivation with high level of motivation in all statements. The percentage of intrinsic motivation was 93.33 % (the highest percentage) followed by the other three factors, future oriented motivation (91.67 %), personal reason (88.33 %), and extrinsic motivation (68.33 %)
