Abstract

Jangkok River is a largest rivers in the city of Mataram which empties into the Ampenan coast. The activities around the Ampenan estuary are tourism areas, densely populated areas and 90 percent of Ampenan coastal communities work as fishermen. The problem of Jangkok River Estuary is that the closure of river and it has been displaced by large waves that carry sediment transport along the coast to settle at the estuary. Jetty development in general has not been functioning optimally as indicated by sedimentation in the river mouth after construction. This research was conducted with an initial stage namely problem identification and secondary data collection. Then analyze data, in the form of: i) Fetch calculations, ii) Wind Analysis, iii) Wave Analysis, iv) Tidal Analysis, v) Surface-Water Modeling System (SMS) Modeling, and iv) Selection of alternative treatments. In this study it was found that: i) Sedimentation conditions in the form of sand from the sea with an area of ± 5,754 m2 , with an average sedimentation height of ± 1 m. However, the remaining sedimentation will cause a buildup effect, iii) The highest sediment concentration occurred at 129 hours of 191 hours amounting to 1.654 kg/m3 due to sea water to tides at 3.05 m water level, wind speed 3.11 m/s, and direction 202.5o , iv) The effectiveness of modeling for the distance between 60 m jetty is more effective, namely the height of sedimentation modeling results is 0.078 m but it has not been able to reduce sedimentation significantly, and v) Alternative treatment for effective sedimentation problems is river flow normalization.
