Abstract

Lingsar Subdistrict, West Lombok Regency is an area that manages many superior commodities ranging from food crops (rice and secondary crops), horticulture, animal husbandry, and fisheries. Has the potential for the development of various types of vegetables such as spinach, mustard greens, kale, long beans, tomatoes, chilies, and eggplant. Even though it is cultivated on a small scale, farming activities contribute significantly to farmers.This study aims to (1) Determine the feasibility of mustard vegetable farming in the Bug-Bug Village of Lingsar District, West Lombok Regency. (2) Knowing the obstacles faced in mustard vegetable farming in Bug-Bug Village, Lingsar District, West Lombok Regency.This study uses descriptive methods and techniques for conducting research using survey methods. The data used are primary and secondary data, and the type of data used consists of quantitative and qualitative data. This research was conducted in Bug-Bug Village. The determination of the Bug-Bug Village as a research location is based on the consideration that the Bug-Bug Village is one of the villages that produce mustard continually and as the village with the most number of mustard production in Lingsar District which consists of 15 villages namely, Sigerongan, Lingsar, Dasan Geria, Gegerung, Bugs, Gontoran, Sari Baye, Gegelang, Batu Mekar, Karang Bayan, Langko, Duman, Batu Kumbung, Peteluan Indah and Giri Madya.The results of this study are mustard vegetable farming in Bug-Bug Village, Lingsar District, West Lombok Regency, which costs Rp.895,951, Rp.5,025,367 and Rp. 4,129,416, with a large R / C Ratio obtained ≥ 1 which is 6 so that the mustard vegetable farming is worth the effort, where each expenditure of Rp. 1 000 will receive Rp. 6 000. And the obstacles encountered in the vegetable farming in Bug-Bug Village, Lingsar District, West Lombok Regency, OPT attack with 30 respondents with a percentage of 100%. Furthermore natural disaster constraints with a total of 12 respondents with a percentage of 40%. Furthermore, the constraints of the lack of fertilizer rations with the number of respondents were 6 respondents with a percentage of 20%.Suggestion: Farmers are expected to be more active in finding information on handling pests and diseases that attack mustard farming and the government is expected to pay more attention to the needs of farmers for supporting facilities and infrastructure in mustard farming such as providing subsidized fertilizer assistance both biological fertilizers and chemical fertilizers.
