Abstract

Fruits are one type of horticultural plants that are more chronic, and better known as a source of vitamins and minerals. Superior plant seeds are one very important factor in increasing the productivity of fruits both in quality and quantity. West Nusa Tenggara Province is one of the business centers for labeled fruit plants which has various types of fruit seed commodity commodities. The number of applications for certification of fruit plant seedlings is due to consumer demand for seedlings that have clear origins and are tested for the variety's authenticity. The objectives of this study are: (1) Determine the production and income earned by farmers in fruit plant nurseries in Lingsar District, West Lombok Regency; (2) Knowing the channels and marketing efficiency of fruit seeds in Lingsar District, West Lombok Regency; (3) Knowing the obstacles faced by farmers in running a fruit crop nursery business in Lingsar District, West Lombok Regency. The research method used in this research is descriptive. The determination of the research location is based on purposive sampling in two villages, namely Batu Kumbung Village and Gegelang Village. Determination of the number of respondents using the census method for Breeders and the Snowball Sampling method to determine marketing margins. The results of the study show that: (1) The average cost incurred by certified seed breeders in the Lingsar sub-district of West Lombok Regency is Rp 80,039,633 with an average income earned of Rp 609,710,367. The average cost incurred by non-certified seed breeders in the Lingsar sub-district, West Lombok Regency is Rp. 29,459,237 with an average income earned of Rp. 236,965,243; (2) The marketing margin of efficient mangosteen plant seeds in channel II (Breeders-Collectors- Retailers) with a value of IDR 24,227 / seedlings. The marketing margin for Durian plant seeds is efficient in channel II (Penangkar-collectors), which is Rp. 20,556 / seed. The marketing margin of the Rambutan plant seeds is efficient in channel II (Penangkar-Pengepeul) which is Rp. 13,056 / seed; (3) Obstacles faced by breeders in the business of fruit plant nurseries include capital, plant seedlings, labor, and competition. The suggestions from the researchers are: (1) Breeders of uncertified seed businesses are advised to make business licenses for the submission of certified seedlings and improve the quality of products produced so that consumers are more confident in the quality of products sold; (2) To achieve marketing objectives, namely high profitability, the cultivator should improve the implementation and supervision functions in marketing activities even better.
