Abstract

This study is aimed at the differences in English learning outcomes. The design of this study was Quasi Experimental Design. The data collection method used was observation, pre-test, treatment, and post-test. The findings of this study were (1) to know the result of learning English in outdoor for the eighth grade students of SMPN 2 Sakra, (2) to know the result of learning English in indoor for the eighth grade students of SMPN 2 Sakra, (3) to know the differences in English learning outcomes after outdoor learning and indoors learning for the eighth grade students of SMPN 2 Sakra. The sample is class VIII1and class VIII2, where the experimental class is VIII1and control class is VIII2.The instrument used to determine student learning outcomes in the form of tests using as many as 10 multiple choice. The data analysis technique used is descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis. Based on the results of descriptive analysis obtained an average of the two groups, namely the experimental group (pre-test)of 45 and (post-test) 76,1, the control group(pre-test) was 67,2 and the (post-test) was 74,4. Based on the results of SPSS version 18 processing, the sig value (2 tailed) was obtained for the post-test value of 0.046. = 0.05 (5%). Because sig (2 tailed) <α = 0.05 (0.046 <0.05) then Ho is rejected. While based on the average learning outcomes in the control class = 76,1 and the experimental class = 74.4 where there are differences between the two classes. Thus it can be concluded that the learning outcomes in English subjects of students taught with outdoors learning are higher than the results of learning English students who are taught with indoors learning.
