Abstract

Significant changes of water quality in the Dodokan basin have occurred over the last 20 years and now threaten economic, environmental and social resources. This short paper outlines the key isssues of concern involving changes to the envoronemental quality of some rivers within the Dodokan basin and other rivers in Indonesia. The paper considers the implication of these issues for the future management strategy in improving the environmental quality in this basin. The proposed roles of the West Nusa Tenggara Water Resources Board Committee (PTPA) are suggested.
