Abstract

Reading is a skill that should be owned by every person who wants to be fluent in learning English. However, many students are still struggling to master this skill. This aimed atanalyzing the difficulties that are faced by 32 students in thelanguage class at MA Al-Aziziah Putra academic year 2015/2016, and the results obtained was quite astonishing, because (50%) or half of the students in class had difficulty in understanding the generic structure and language features is (37.5%) of students, This is also causedby lack of knowledge of the students in terms of vocabulary and grammar is (28.1%) in the class. In addition to these factors, the number of learning activities outside the classroom makes students lazy to re-read their subjects, especially English. Thus more attention from the teachers to instill the importance of reading from an early age is needed to train students to become accustomed.
