Abstract
This study is an experimental research related to the use of cartoon movie in teaching writing recount text : at the First Grade Students of MADI Putri Nurul Hakim Kediri in Academic Years 2014/2015. The aim of this research was to find out the effect of the use of cartoon movie for teaching writing recount text. This research used an experimental design in which it used two group design : experimental group and control group. The population of this research was the first grade students of MADI Nurul Hakim. The total population of this research was 160 students from 6 classes. Each of group consisted of 29 students. The sampling technique of this research was purposive random sampling. The data was collected through pre-test and post-test. The experimental group was treated by using cartoon movie as a media, while the control group was treated without using cartoon movie. The result of the post-test mean score of experimental group was 51.206, while the post-test mean score of control group was 53.517. the finding showed that t-test value was higher than t-table. 2.098 > 2.009 at significant level .05 in degree of freedom (df) 56. It means that the Null Hypothesis (Ho) which is stated that “There is no significant effect of using cartoon movie for teaching writing recount text ” was rejected. While the Alternate Hypothesis (Ha) that “There is a significant effect of using cartoon movie for teaching writing recount text” failed to be rejected. It showed that cartoon movie gave significant effect for teaching writing recount text at the first grade Students of MADI Putri Nurul Hakim Kediri in academic years 2014/2015.
