Abstract
Aangkuriang catfish itself has a high enough demand, reaching ± 500,000 heads / week in the domestic market. One of the obstacles faced in sangkuriang catfish farming is the high mortality rate caused by the nature of cannibalism. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of adding pineapple extract on the level of cannibalism and growth of sangkuriang catfish (C. gariepinus) and to determine the best concentration of pineapple extract in reducing the level of cannibalism in sangkuriang catfish (C. gariepinus). This research was conducted by experiment, using a single factor completely randomized design (CRD). The treatment tested was the addition of pineapple extract to the feed. The treatment design consisted of 4 treatments that were repeated 3 times each. The treatments tested were: Treatment A pineapple extract content 0.00% Treatment B pineapple extract content 0.25% Treatment C pineapple extract content 0.50% Treatment D pineapple extract content 1.50%. The results of this study, namely the provision of pineapple extract 1.50% gave the highest survival response, namely 91.67%. Then the next highest order was giving pineapple extract 0.50%, namely 87.50%, then pineapple extract 0.25%, namely 84.17% and treatment without pineapple extract 68.33% gave the lowest result. Without giving pineapple extract, it gave the highest response rate of cannibalism, which was 30.00%. pineapple extract treatment of 1.50%, namely 6.67% gave the lowest results. Without giving pineapple extract, it tends to give a higher growth rate and weight than the treatment with pineapple extract
