Abstract

The research entitled “The Formation and Development of Children’s Social Behavior at the Paramita Mataram Children’s Social Rehabilitation Center” sees the problem that occur in children with the decline in morality of adolescents, so it is very urgent to establish and develop children’s social behavior as a bulwark of negative effects of globalization. Of course it requires the formation and guidance that is directed and sustainable. This research aims to determine the factors behind children committing deviant behavior, to find out the efforts to form and foster children’s social behavior at the Children’s Social Rehabilitation Center in need of Special Protection Paramita Mataram, and to what extent the achievements obtained from efforts to form and develop children’s social behavior require protection. Specifically Paramita Mataram. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. The technique of determining informants in this study used purposive sampling. The data collection technique used was triangulation. The data analysis techniques used were data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions from Miles and Huberman. The results of this study indicate that (1) there are two factors behind the child’s deviant behavior, namely internal factors which include the child’s habits and low self-control. External factors which include economic, environmental, peer influence, and drug factors. (2) Efforts to from and foster children’s social behavior at the Children’s Social Rehabilitation Center require special Paramita Mataram protection which includes physical guidance, mental and mental psychology guidance, social guidance, spiritual guidance, and vocational or skills guidance. (3) the achievements obtained from efforts to form and develop children’s social behavior require special protection from Paramita Mataram, including the recovery of the child’s psychology and social condition, the improvement of the child’s spiritual condition and the improvement of the child’s social functioning and skills.
