Abstract

The green belt of Jalan Udayana is one of the icons of the Green Open Space (RTH) in Mataram City, which has ecological, socio-cultural, aesthetic, and economic roles. As an area that is overgrown with trees and used for various human activities, the trees' health along the route is essential to prevent accidents. This study evaluates tree risk and recommends to reduce tree risk in the RTH Udayana Green Belt in Mataram City. The sampling method used in this research is purposively considering species representation, tree diameter, target potential, and level of damage. Tree Risk Assessment was carried out based on the International Society of Aboriculture (ISA) standards. The tree risk assessment showed that the trees on Udayana Street ranged from low risk (71%), medium (19%), high (7%) to the extreme (3%). The results showed that the damage found in general was crown damage, with branch mortality ranging from 10% to 25%. Thus, the recommendation to reduce the risk of trees in the RTH of the Udayana Route in Mataram is pruning, a form of risk management that aims to minimize the number of dead branches in the tree crowns
