This research aimed to investigate students’ perception towards the effectiveness of lecturer feedback in developing students academic writing and kinds of feedback given inside the academic writing class. The research design is case study. The subject of this research is students in the fourth semester which are consist of 198 students who have finished the academic writing class. The sampling technique was purposive sampling which meant to focus on the units that are investigated based on the judgment of the researcher. The class 4A which was consisting of 15 students was chosen as the sample. The data in this study were gained through questionnaire and interview. The result of this study showed that the feedbacks given in the class were: direct feedback, indirect feedback, focuses feedback, oral feedback and conference feedback. All of the students agree that the feedback given by the students was effective. However, students show different reason over it. 30.7% students think that the feedbacks were to help them figure out their mistakes, 15.2% students think that the feedbacks help them in correcting their mistakes. 15.6% students think that the feedbacks help them improve their writing but not really, and the rest (38.5%) could not specify the reason.
