Abstract
Background: Traumaticbraininjury(TBI)hasrisensharply,mainlyduetoincreaseduseofmotorizedvehiclesin countrieswithlowandmiddleincome.TrafficaccidentsarethemaincauseofTBI(60%)followedbyfalls (20%–25%)andviolence(10%).Computedtomography(CT)isrecommendedforinitialassessmentinemer- gencyservices.Notonlyprovidesinformationanddiagnosistoidentifysurgicalneeds,butalsohelpsineval- uatingpatientsandoutcomes. Method: Aretrospectivestudyconductedusingmedicalrecorddataofneurosurgerypatientswhometthein- clusioncriteriainWestNusaTenggaraGeneralHospitalin2015until2017.Thesamplesizeisdeterminedby consecutivesamplingmethod. Result: Samplesizewas209patients.Malepatientsmorecommonthanfemale(78.95%).Thehighestagegroup at21–30years(21.53%)withaverageagewas31.66yearsold.TheinitialmedianGCSwas10points.Themost commoncausewasmotorvehicleaccidents(MVA)with176cases(84.21%).Thehighestmortalityratewas foundintheseverebraininjurygroupwith31patients(14.83%).Averagedurationoftreatmentwere7.58days. Conclusion: Therewasasignificantrelationshipbetweenage,initialGCSvalue,mortalityrate,andlengthofstay forTBIpatientswithoutcomepredictionsbasedonCTMarshallclassification
