Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the personality development of the main character in the Study of Indiana Character in the Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade Film through Kierkegaard's Existentialism Perspective. The method used in writing this thesis is a qualitative method by analyzing the main character in the film Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in the novel. The results of the analysis are as follows: (1) the formation of Subjective Truth in Indiana is characterized by the turmoil of despair analyzed using Kierkegaard's existentialism which shows a brief development of the main character's personality from the beginning to the end of the story. (2) the challenge of THE HOLY GRAIL as an indicator of Indiana's success in existence is the highlight of the event where the main character reaches the end point of his journey as an archaeologist and becomes someone who fully believes in God who helps him get out of his biggest problem and can save his father who is his goal in his life too.
