Abstract

ABSTRACT This thesis dealt with the use of Information and Communication Technology on English as foreign language learning. This study aimed to map the utilization of ICT among the students of English Department Mataram University. A total of 72 respondents, chosen using stratified random sampling technique, participated within the current study. The data were gathered by using close-ended questionnaire and open ended-interview. The gathered data indicated that the utilization of ICT among them was above the average level. Moreover, the most ICT used by the students were social media, presentation software, word processing program, e-dictionary, and online library resources. The study also revealed some activities done by English Department students by using ICT: surfing internet, downloading or listening to music or video, sending e-mails, and doing classroom activities.
