Abstract

This study aims to investigate the English students’ perception toward YouTube as resources to improve their speaking skill and to find out the dominant factor of English students’ perception toward YouTube to improve their speaking skill. This study was conducted by using quantitative design. The population of this study was 199 students at fourth semester English Education FKIP UNRAM as sample. To achieve the objective, a questionnaire (google form) was administered to collect the perception of 50 students at fourth semester of English Education FKIP UNRAM. The result showed that the English students’ perception toward YouTube to improve their speaking was positive (64%). The English students are often using YouTube to improve their speaking skill. Furthermore, the dominant factor of English students’ perception toward YouTube to improve their speaking skill was situation (33,55%).
