Abstract

In the context of EFL, writing skills have been considered as important skills that needed to be mastered. Students needed Writing Corrective Feedback (WCF) from teachers to improve their writing skills. However, in the COVID-19 pandemic situation, feedback is transferred online through multiple platforms to reduce the spread of the virus. Although many researchers have conducted research on the perceptions of teachers and learners on the application of different types of feedback in students' writing. However, fewer have explored teacher perceptions and student responses toward direct and indirect corrective feedback through multiple platforms in student thesis writing. This study has used a qualitative descriptive research design with a case study. Specifically, the researcher used a non-random purposive sampling technique in recruiting two English teachers and fifteen learners. The instruments in this study used closed questionnaires and semi-structured interviews. The researcher adapts the formulation of Sudijono (2006) to analyze the data from the closed questionnaire and adapts the steps taken by Creswell (2003) to analyze the data from the interviews. The results showed that the teacher's perception was different from the response given by the learners to the application of different types of feedback through multiple platforms. Teachers have a perception that direct and indirect corrective feedback is important to give to students. While learners respond if they prefer to get direct feedback rather than indirect. Providing online feedback through multiple platforms has implications for the continuity of the thesis guidance consultation process for learners during the covid-19 pandemic. .
