Abstract
This thesis entitled “ an Analysis of Conflicts in Aquaman Movie”. Therefore, this study aimed To identify and explain the conflict present in Aquaman Movie, to identify and elaborate the cause of conflict present in Aquaman Movie and to know and describe how the characters in Aquaman movie solve their conflicts. There are there research question in this research. The first What are the conflicts present in Aquaman Movie, the second What are the cause of conflicts in Aquaman Movie, and the third is How the characters in Aquaman movie solve their conflicts. In this research the writer only analyze on the external conflict in the movie the writer use the theory of human needs by Abraham Masllow’s to find out the causes of the conflicts in the movie and drawing the ways of each characters solve their conflicts based on the Deetz and Stevenson conflict management strategies. In this study the writer use qualitative descriptive method. The primary data of this study are gathered from Aquaman Movie and it is supported by secondary data from article and any website from the internet that conduct the data of Aquaman movie. The result of study are : (1) There are 10 of external conflict, that divide into three kind of external conflicts there are 6 conflicts of man vs man, 3 conflicts of man vs society, and 1 conflicts of man vs nature. (2) The writer found the causes of the conflicts by using a Masllow theory of human needs. In this movie the writer find some causes of the conflict that is love and belonging needs, esteem needs, safety needs and self actualization needs. (3) The writer drawing the solve how the character solve their conflict by using the conflict management strategies by Deetz and Stevenson, here the writer found that the character solve their conflict by avoiding, competition and pacification.
