Abstract
This study describes the children protection from being involved as child jockey, and identifies the responsibilities of Local Government and Parents in supervising the Sumbawa culture that involving children as jockeys. This study is a normative-empirical study, with statute, conceptual, historical, and sociological approaches. Results of this study show that making children as jockeys has been practiced in Sumbawa culture. However, this practice is obviously a children exploitation, according to the Law No 35 of 2014. It is a physical and social exploitation and is safety threatening. Nonetheless, there has been no regulation nor policy issued by the Local Government in addressing this issue. It is expected that the Local Government and parents to take an active role in putting an end to this practice
