Abstract

This thesis entitled The Analysis of Conflicts Resolution by the Main Character to Become a Successful Student as Observed in “Akeelah & the Bee Movie was aimed to identify what conflicts are faced by the main character, how the impact of these conflicts on the main character, and how the method or strategy used by the main character to resolve all kinds of conflicts in the Akeelah & the Bee Movie. The author uses the theory of conflict and types of conflict as well as the impact and resolution of conflict resolution by Kelly. J. Mays and Aruna Ladva to support the writing of this thesis. The method used in this research is qualitative method because the data are collected, analyzed, and explained in the form of words rather than numerical scores and statistics. There were two sorts of data that the researcher used, the first one was primary data, Akeelah & the Bee Movie, and the second was secondary data was taken from several books, journal, and websites. The findings show there are two types of conflicts faced by the main characters in the Akeelah & the Bee Movie as follows: Internal conflict and eksternal conlifct. In addition, the authors also found two impacts caused by various kinds of conflicts faced by the main characters such as positive and negative impacts and also the authors found several strategies used by the main characters in resolving conflicts such as strategy accommodating, collaborating, compromising.
