Abstract

A pot trial using sandy soil samples from the dryland farming s)'stem of Northern Lombok was conducted in the Faculty of Agdculture, l\{ataram University to study the role of indigenous of mycorddza to improve soil fenility, nutrients uptake, soybean growth and yields. Treatments tested wete: without mycorrhiza inoculation vidr no fertilizers as control (IQ, inoculation of mycorrhiza with no fettilizets (I(,), inoculation of mycorrhiza with catde maflure (Q, irroculation of mycorrhiza plus rock phosphate (K.) and inoculation of mycorhiza pius inorganic ferti.lizers (I(,). Th. five treatments v/ere artanged in a Completely Randomized Block Desippe with fbur replicates. Soil fertiJity status obsened \vere concentrations of N, P, K, and oreanic-C and soil pH. Agtonomic measurements were crop nutrients uptake (l{, P, K and Ca), govth and yield. Variables dealing rvith mycorhiza were tecorded for: total populatior of mycorrhiza artd percentage of roots infection. Overall, the results of study showed that soil fertilitv status as n'ell as performance of grorvth and -l'ield of soybean tended to be higher in arbuscular mycorhiza (ANf inoculated soils compared to other treatmerits. Therefore, the application of AM along with application of catde manure would be promising to sllstaifl soil ptoductivity under soybean cropping svstem
