Abstract

This study aims to find out the effectiveness of using Jigsaw IV technique in teaching reading using narrative text. It took place at SMAN 1 Kuripan West Lombok. It involved the eleventh grade students as the participants of this study. A two-group of pre-test and post-test design was used. Narrative reading tasks were used to collect data. The results show that after implementing the jigsaw IV technique, the students' reading comprehension achievement increased significantly with the substantial level of effectiveness. These findings imply that using the Jigsaw techniques in teaching reading of the narrative text can help students improve their reading comprehension.
