Abstract
This study was experimental research. The objective of this study is to find out how effective is the animated – pictures sequences in teaching writing of descriptive text in 9th grade of SMPN 12 Mataram. The students’ writing ability in descriptive text based on pre – test, treatment, and post – test. In this case, the researcher analyzing it with T-Test. The results of this research is from the analysis of post – test is significantly showing the effectiveness of using animated – pictures sequences. The mean scores of post – test is higher than pre - test (70.63 > 51.72). The results of the analysis using SPSS is showed that the T-Test value is higher than T-Table (9.095 > 1.696). Thus, from the data presentation, it can be concluded that the writing descriptive text skill of the 9th grade of SMPN 12 Mataram are effective.
