Abstract
Salt is a strategic commodity as an industrial raw material and food raw material that is very much needed by the community, but nowadays the situation of salt farmers as in the life of coastal communities in general, faces various problems that cause poverty. Salt is also a basic need that humans consume approximately 4 kg per year and is used as industrial raw material. The aims of this research are (1) to analyze the costs and income of salt pond business in Donggobolo Village, Woha District, Bima Regency; (2) Analyzing the feasibility of a salt pond business in Donggobolo Village, Woha District, Bima Regency; (3) Analyzing the constraints faced by salt farmers in Donggobolo Village, Woha District, Bima Regency. This research uses a descriptive method. Data collection techniques by means of interviews, observation, and recording. The unit of analysis in this research is salt farmers who do salt business in Donggobolo Village. The types of data in this study are quantitative and qualitative, while the sources of data in this study are: primary data and secondary data. This research was carried out in Donggobolo Village by establishing three groups of ponds, namely the salt of Nanga fare mori group, the salt pond group of Nanga Tolosia in , the group of salt ponds who care about work. Determination of the sample area is done by purposive sampling on the basis of sampling based on the number or quota that has been determined as many as 43 respondents, where each group is 11 respondents. The analysis used in this research are: Descriptive Analysis. Based on the results of the research and discussion, the following conclusions were drawn: (1) The average salt production in Donggobolo Village, Woha District, Bima Regency was 59,556, -kg per hectare with an income of Rp. 17,866,800, -per hectare. The average production cost is Rp. 5,956,659-per hectare with an average pond income of Rp. 11.910.141 per hectare. (2) The efficiency of the salt business as measured by the R/C ratio is 2.99, which means that the salt business in Donggobolo Village is profitable (appropriate). (3). Constraints faced by salt farmers in Donggobolo Village at the farmer level, the price of salt is Rp. 300/kg. This tends to be because in salt marketing there is only one monopsony buyer.
