Abstract
Songs are one of media that often used by English teachers in order to help students in studying English, especially for motivation. The aim of this research was to know what are students’ and teachers’ perception on using English songs to study English in terms of motivation. This research was conducted to find out how students’ enthusiastic on using English songs to study English. In order to answer the research questions, the research used a survey research through three instruments: observation, questionnaire and interview. Due to Covid, the participants for the research were fifteen students of 8C grade students and two English teachers of SMPN 10 Mataram. Based on the research findings, the students and teachers agreed that English song was a good media that could be used in learning. The result could be proved through questionnaire where the students agreed that English song is suitable to use in almost all aspects of English learning.
