Abstract

This study aims to determine the students learning speaking strategy during the pandemic in the subjects of public speaking and the research of this study was English language education students at Mataram University. This study used descriptive qualitative research methods in collecting and analyzing data. The data of this study was gathered by three techniques: documentation, questionnaires and interviews. The data gathered have been analyzed used descriptive qualitative method. with the following stages: data presentation, data reduction and conclusion. The findings show that the students speaking learning strategy that is usually used by English education students during the pandemic is learning speaking through YouTube media. This can be seen on the YouTube media, which greatly influences the strategy that is usually used by English education students in public speaking courses during the pandemic.
