Abstract

Online learning has been implemented for almost countries in the world, but in Indonesia not all agencies apply it. Online learning began to be implemented when the covid-19 virus occurred. To improve student-teachers' teaching performance in the application of online learning cannot be carried out maximally due to many obstacles in the field. This research study aimed to (a) to reveal the teaching strategies used by student-teachers' when online learning is applied, (b) to identify various kinds of obstacles that are found when carrying out PLP activities that can influence their teaching performance. The research employed a qualitative research method. Data were collected through in-depthinterviews with five student-teachers' at SMPN 4 Gerung. While the findings for student-teachers' teaching strategies, namely, student-teachers’ use of asynchronous learning and student-teachers’ absence of synchronous learning. Among other findings the present study reports the problems, the related problems of student-teachers' teaching performance in online classes. The problems that student-teachers' lack of adequate knowledge of online learning and studentteachers’ not receiving training from campus for online teaching.
