Along with the analysis of reliability of the test, the researcher also analyzed the item discrimination and item difficulty level in order to know the quality of the test. The finding of this research showed that the teacher made English test was categorized as good test in terms of quantity because its level of reliability was .84, so it was categorized as reliable and the percentage of content coverage was 88.23% which was classified had very high level of content validity. However, the quality of the test was not good because the result of its item difficulty and level of discriminating power was not satisfying. There were only 11 items out of 40 items had good level of difficulty and discrimination power and it could be safely used in future tests without being rewritten. Thus, it can be concluded that the teacher made English test administered at first grade students of SMP DH Padamara had good quantity but poor in the quality of the test. Therefore, it is believed that the failure of 48% of the students on the test is caused by the poor result of level difficulty and level of discriminating power.
