Abstract

North Lombok coastal has abundant potential of fisheies resources. One of the potential by capture fisheries vector to developt in the aquaculture is octopus. Octopus is a marine species of molluscs. The high economic value of these species lead them to be caughti n large number. This condition rises them to be over exploitated (overfishing). Effort to maintain the sustainability of octopus is to start a new production activities by aquaculture section begin with reproduction. So we need an initial research on the reproductive aspects of female octopuses in North Lombok coastal. The purpose of this study was to analyze the morphology of female octopuses and to analyze the effect of body weight on TKG and IKG of octopuses landed in Sire Coastal Waters, North Lombok. The method used in this study is a survey and experimental method. In this study, interviews with fishermen who caught octopus were used and several treatment designs were used based on the size group of female octopuses, namely P1 = Octopus with a body weight of 701-900 grams, P2 = body weight 901-1100 grams, P3 = body weight 1101-1300 grams. and P4 = body weight 1301-1500 grams. The results obtained are female octopuses in Sire Beach have a negative allometric growth pattern. The age group of female octopuses caught was between young and adults with the composition of female octopus suitable for catching, suitable for consumption and suitable for spawning respectively 80%, 70% and 80%. The highest TKG was found in treatment P4, with an average body weight of 1331.33 g. While the largest IKG is treatment P1. The conclusion obtained is that the octopus caught has a composition suitable for catching, suitable for consumption and suitable for spawning 70-80% with female octopus body weight having a significant effect on TKG but not having a significant effect on IKG values.
