Abstract
Higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) are new thinking ideas in the 2013 Indonesian Curriculum, which is based on the top three levels of Bloom's updated Taxonomy: analyzing, evaluating, and creating. This research aimed was to determine the relationship between HOTS-base test and English achievement of 11th-grade high school students at MAN 2 Mataram. This study used correlation research which include non-experimental quantitative research. The population of this research is students of second grade at MAN 2 Mataram. This research involved 44 students. The technique used to analyze the data is Pearson Product Moment Correlation with a significance of 0.05 and 0.01 and a degree of freedom of 43. This study found a strong positive linear correlation between HOTS-base test and the English achievement test of eleventh-grade students of MAN 2 Mataram. The result of the rx is 0.69 which is categorized as a strong. When the r- test is computed to the r-table, the value of the r-test ( 0.69) is higher than the r- table (0.297) and ( 0.384). So, it concluded that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected
