Abstract

This research was designed and made a device CO2absorption detection system in plants. A plant'sCO2absorption capability can be measured by utilizing a type of sensor that can detect or measure CO2concentration.. The device consists of an MH-Z19 sensor, an Arduino Uno module, a data logger module, and a leaf chamber. For the testing of CO2absorption measurement system used several test samples namely free air, oxygen with a content of 95%, and artificial CO2. The collection of CO2absorption data was conducted for one hour at 08.00, 10.00, 12.00, 14.00, and 16.00 WITA with repetitions of five days. The measurement results show the same pattern. This is indicated by the visible value of CO2concentration decreased during one hour of measurement. Although the data trend shows the same trend, the best absorption occurs on the first, third, fourth, andfifth days. For the first, third, and fifth days, the weather conditions are very sunny so that the measured absorption of CO2 reaches 500 ppm -650 ppm, while on the fourth day the weather conditions are slightly cloudy so that the absorption of CO2onlyreaches 700 ppm. The system that has been made has an average measurement precision in a span of five days above 80%. The precision of the detection system in the range of 88.67%-94.14%.
