Abstract

This research is aimed at finding out what are the teacher‟s techniques for teaching English vocabulary, what are the techniques dominantly used by teachers in teaching English vocabulary, and what are the reason techniques used by the teachers in teaching English vocabulary at SMPN 1 Labuapi. The population in this research is all English teachers in SMPN 1 Labuapi, consisting of 3. The data collection procedure in this researcher is observation and questionnaire. In observation the researcher observed each English teacher during the teaching and learning process. And questionnaire, the researcher was distributed to the teachers to find out of teachers techniques used in teaching English vocabulary. There were six questionnaire, were three questionnaire is YES/NO question and three questionnaire is a content for clearly YES/NO question. The conclusion in this research is it was easy for the teacher to increase the student‟s ability in teaching English vocabulary and increased the student‟s idea, the techniques made the students more interested, enjoyed, and happy in learning English vocabulary, the techniques avoided the students‟ boredom in teaching and learning English vocabulary, the students could express many idea and more to understand the every word, and the teacher could evaluate the students‟.
