Abstract

This study aims to improve students’ vocabulary. This research was carried out in class VIII of MTs NW Boro' Tumbuh in the academic year 2020/2021 as research subjects. The subjects of this study amounted to 27 students of class VIII. The method used in this study is qualitative and quantitative research. This research was conducted in 3 cycles, in which each cycle the teacher gave different tasks to students, such as individual assignments, pairworks, and groups to compare which assignments were most suitable to be given to students. In collecting data, iam use a qualitative method which consists of the stages of observation, interview, pre- test, and post-test. The results of this study indicates that there is a development in students' vocabulary mastery. It can be seen from the student test scores, that the individual pre-test scores show that the mean score is 41,8 and the individual post- test score is 58.1 the results of the pre-test pairwork show the mean score is 54.4 and the post-test score -test framework is 72,4 and finally the results of the pre- test group show the mean score is 51.6 and the score of the post-test group is 64,4 in addition, from the results of observations and interviews it is known that students are motivated in teaching and learning activities when the task model is applied in learning vocabulary.
