Abstract
This research is aimed at identifying the changes (necking, addition, and varied changes) based on ekranisasi theory that happen in film adaptation Predestination based on short story All You Zombies and its usefulness in literature learning. The researcher used qualitative method. The primary data of this research are taken from the short story and the transcript of the film. Meanwhile the secondary data are taken from books, journals, articles, internet sites and dictionary that are related to the study. After analyzing the data of this study, the writer found there were some changes, necking, addition, and varied changes in the plot, characters, settings, and the theme of the story in this film adaptation that have relation one to another. In the plot, the writer found there was no necking of plot happened, eight addition scenes, and twenty two varied changes. In the characters, the writer found one necking of character, nine addition characters, and three varied changes of characters. In the setting, the writer found there was no necking as well as in the plot, eight addition settings, and eight varied changes of plot in the twenty two scenes. Meanwhile, in the theme the writer did not find necking and varied changes happened, only one addition of theme in this film adaptation. The writer also found that this research is useful to the literature learning. It can help the learners can appreciate literary works more and they can get the knowledge about literature.
